Job Hunt Update

OK, you guys, so as you know I had been working at the Cherokee Casino Resort in Catoosa since September of 2000, but was fired February of this year. Well since then I have been on unemployment. And just so you know I wasn't just setting at home doing nothing, although it felt that way sometimes. I have been looking for a job for the last 8 months, just never found one. Here's the funny thing though. I got this e-mail on the 11th from someone in the Creek Nation Casino Employment department saying to contact them regarding employment at Creek Nation Casino. So the next day I called and they said they had seen my resume online and wanted me to come in for an interview. I said shore why not. Now I was trying to find a job closer to Claremore to save gas, but after 8 months of not finding a job I was desperate. So Monday the 15th I went in for the interview. They had me fill out an application and then I had an intake interview to see what position they wanted me for. That Thursday the 18th I went back for an interview with a department manager. The interview went GREAT!!! They offered me a job, pending gaming licence approval, as a Cashier Supervisor, which is what I did at Cherokee Casino. I went back on Monday the 22nd to fill out the application for the gaming licence. They said they would call me in 2 to 3 days to let me know when to go complete the proses for the gaming licence, but they called today not even a day later, I'm taking that as a good sign. So I have to be in Okmulgee at 10:45 in the morning. I'm still not sore when I'll start orientation. But after orientation it's 2 weeks of cashier training, which they said if I do good at I wouldn't have to do the 2 full weeks. After that it's 2 weeks of account clerk training (that's all the paperwork for the cashiers) and then 2 more weeks of supervisor training. At this point I don't know what shift I'll be working or what days I'll have off, not that I care about that stuff. I'm just glade to have a job again. I get so board being at home. It wouldn't be so bad I guess if I had the money to be able to go out and do stuff, but when your broke the only thing there is to do is stay home and watch T.V. or play on the computer. I just hope that once they have me start all the orientation and training it doesn't interfere with the family reunion next month. OK, that's it for now I have to get up early in the morning. I'll keep you guys updated on how the new job is going.

Sept. 8th Court Update

So court was at 9:00 a.m. yesterday and we got there about 15 till. Mom finds the correct court room and there is an attorney in there with a stack of files, but no one else. So she asks him if he know if court would be at the court house or if it would be video court. Video court is where the judge decides to not have any of the inmates come to the court house but stay at the jail in the jail's "court room" and hold court by video up link. Now know one ever knows which one it will be until the judge comes to the court room at the court house and decides what they want to do. So of course the attorney didn't know. So mom asked if Lindsey was on the list to get seen. So the attorney checks his list. Now he's got a list a page long and can't find Lindsey or Rose's name's on it, but he does have Orval's name on his list. He also says there is another list with a different attorney and that the docket was backed up about 200 case's for this one judge so he doesn't know if they'll get seen or not but he'll find out what he can. So we set down to wait. And wait. And wait. By 10:30 the judge still has not come out to start court, but there are several attorney's that go back and forth from the hall to the jury room the whole time. Finally the attorney mom talked to when we first got there came out and tells us that because there were three people involved they each have to have their own attorney and that all they would be doing today was paperwork and setting a new court date. So we wasted an hour and a half setting in a court room watching attorney's walk back and forth trying to look like they were doing their jobs. When really all their doing is charging each of their clients the same full hour as all the other clients when they may spend 15 min talking about each case. And then you have the judge's setting on their butts letting the dockets back up 200 deep casing each case to last way longer then it should. Here Lindsey, Rose, and Orval have been in jail for over a month and Lindsey, that I know of, hasn't even seen an attorney yet. And now they'll be in there for at lest another month just waiting on their next court date and then who knows how long after that.

Court for Lindsey, Orval, & Rose

OK, so it's 12 a.m. and I'm getting ready to go to bed. Lindsey has court in the morning so I have to get up early. This court hearing is for the brake-in that her, Orval, and their friend Rose got arrested for back on the 30th of July. Mom still hasn't gotten to see Lindsey cause not long after Lindsey went in she got into a fight with Rose and was put on lock down. That means no visits or calls. Just letters, which we have received a couple of. Her first letter was 4 or 5 pages long and the second was 2 pages. The first letter was a list of pictures she wanted mom to send her. This list of pic's was not your normal list of people like your mom, dad, brother, sister, and boyfriend. No, this was a complete list of her entire family, and we have a BIG family just on mom's side, on both her dad and mom's sided plus any other pics she could think of. Her second letter was a list of every thing possible for her to buy in the commons up there; from hygiene products, to clothes, to junk food and pop. Now she wouldn't be needing this stuff if she would use the money she gets to get the things she needs instead of junk food, but look who I'm talking about. This is the girl who took her check book, that she is not aloud to have or write out of, and spent over $700 in one day, she doesn't even get that much in one month. But what can you do? OK, anyway I need to go to bed. I'll try and post an update about how court goes tomorrow.

Update on Lindsey

OK, so I knew it wouldn't be long before I started slacking off on the blog thing. I've just never been someone that likes to put my thoughts in writing. Not that I haven't thought about posting an update. I just haven't felt like messing with it lately. And I wasn't to sure if anyone else, other then the two I talk to, was reading it. But someone else asked for an update so I guess there are others that read my blog. So here's an update on what has been going on around here.

The last blog I posted was on the 30th of July and we had just found out that Lindsey, Orval, and a girl named Rose were in jail for breaking into a house. Well they are still in jail. They've had their first court hearing to be appointed attorney's and their bond's have been set. Not that anyone has the money to bail them out. Anyway. Yesterday Lindsey had two Dr. appointments that the jail had to take her to. So mom went to meet them up there so she could get the proscriptions and have them filled. When she got up there she was told she had to leave or they wouldn't bring Lindsey to the appointment. So she left. Let's just said mom was very mad when she got back home. She was told she would have to get an OK from the sheriff for her to be there for the appointment. So she called the sheriff's office and was told that it wasn't anywhere in Lindsey's record that she had any mental problems, was on Med's, or had a guardian. Now see this information should have been put in her record last year when she was in this mess to begin with, but evidently here attorney kept it from going to the judge and told Lindsey to tell the judge that she was not on any Med's. So when mom talked to the sheriffs office she was told that if Lindsey has mental problems she should never have been put in jail at all and that they aren't set up to handle mental felons and that she should go talk to the judge. So now that's what mom is trying to do.

As for the rest of us we took Matt camping at the lake, had dinner at aunt Donna's house, and Matt started 2nd grade. I'll post some blogs with pictures on those events after while.

July 30st Episode

OK, so I haven't really had anything new to add and I didn't think I would until we got back from camping at the lake next week but I was wrong. So here's the update. Lindsey had a Dr. appointment this morning at 9:45am that Orval toke her to. Mom said they wore going to come back here and get something to swim in and then go to Big Splash with Orval's sister. Well they never showed up or returned mom's calls. So we thought they just went on to Big Splash. But evidently not. Mom just came and told me she got a call from Shena (that's who mom babysits for) saying that Lindsey, Orval, and some other girl are in Jail for braking into a house. Can you say STUPID? Now here's the thing Lindsey is on three years probation for assault with a dangerous weapon. So now her well more then likely go to prison for the remainder of the three years. At lest that's how they said it would work, but with Lindsey you never know when their going to say "just don't do it again". That's all I know for now, but mom went to see what more she can find out. I'll post an update when I know more.

To Be Continued...
