Job Hunt Update

OK, you guys, so as you know I had been working at the Cherokee Casino Resort in Catoosa since September of 2000, but was fired February of this year. Well since then I have been on unemployment. And just so you know I wasn't just setting at home doing nothing, although it felt that way sometimes. I have been looking for a job for the last 8 months, just never found one. Here's the funny thing though. I got this e-mail on the 11th from someone in the Creek Nation Casino Employment department saying to contact them regarding employment at Creek Nation Casino. So the next day I called and they said they had seen my resume online and wanted me to come in for an interview. I said shore why not. Now I was trying to find a job closer to Claremore to save gas, but after 8 months of not finding a job I was desperate. So Monday the 15th I went in for the interview. They had me fill out an application and then I had an intake interview to see what position they wanted me for. That Thursday the 18th I went back for an interview with a department manager. The interview went GREAT!!! They offered me a job, pending gaming licence approval, as a Cashier Supervisor, which is what I did at Cherokee Casino. I went back on Monday the 22nd to fill out the application for the gaming licence. They said they would call me in 2 to 3 days to let me know when to go complete the proses for the gaming licence, but they called today not even a day later, I'm taking that as a good sign. So I have to be in Okmulgee at 10:45 in the morning. I'm still not sore when I'll start orientation. But after orientation it's 2 weeks of cashier training, which they said if I do good at I wouldn't have to do the 2 full weeks. After that it's 2 weeks of account clerk training (that's all the paperwork for the cashiers) and then 2 more weeks of supervisor training. At this point I don't know what shift I'll be working or what days I'll have off, not that I care about that stuff. I'm just glade to have a job again. I get so board being at home. It wouldn't be so bad I guess if I had the money to be able to go out and do stuff, but when your broke the only thing there is to do is stay home and watch T.V. or play on the computer. I just hope that once they have me start all the orientation and training it doesn't interfere with the family reunion next month. OK, that's it for now I have to get up early in the morning. I'll keep you guys updated on how the new job is going.

Sept. 8th Court Update

So court was at 9:00 a.m. yesterday and we got there about 15 till. Mom finds the correct court room and there is an attorney in there with a stack of files, but no one else. So she asks him if he know if court would be at the court house or if it would be video court. Video court is where the judge decides to not have any of the inmates come to the court house but stay at the jail in the jail's "court room" and hold court by video up link. Now know one ever knows which one it will be until the judge comes to the court room at the court house and decides what they want to do. So of course the attorney didn't know. So mom asked if Lindsey was on the list to get seen. So the attorney checks his list. Now he's got a list a page long and can't find Lindsey or Rose's name's on it, but he does have Orval's name on his list. He also says there is another list with a different attorney and that the docket was backed up about 200 case's for this one judge so he doesn't know if they'll get seen or not but he'll find out what he can. So we set down to wait. And wait. And wait. By 10:30 the judge still has not come out to start court, but there are several attorney's that go back and forth from the hall to the jury room the whole time. Finally the attorney mom talked to when we first got there came out and tells us that because there were three people involved they each have to have their own attorney and that all they would be doing today was paperwork and setting a new court date. So we wasted an hour and a half setting in a court room watching attorney's walk back and forth trying to look like they were doing their jobs. When really all their doing is charging each of their clients the same full hour as all the other clients when they may spend 15 min talking about each case. And then you have the judge's setting on their butts letting the dockets back up 200 deep casing each case to last way longer then it should. Here Lindsey, Rose, and Orval have been in jail for over a month and Lindsey, that I know of, hasn't even seen an attorney yet. And now they'll be in there for at lest another month just waiting on their next court date and then who knows how long after that.

Court for Lindsey, Orval, & Rose

OK, so it's 12 a.m. and I'm getting ready to go to bed. Lindsey has court in the morning so I have to get up early. This court hearing is for the brake-in that her, Orval, and their friend Rose got arrested for back on the 30th of July. Mom still hasn't gotten to see Lindsey cause not long after Lindsey went in she got into a fight with Rose and was put on lock down. That means no visits or calls. Just letters, which we have received a couple of. Her first letter was 4 or 5 pages long and the second was 2 pages. The first letter was a list of pictures she wanted mom to send her. This list of pic's was not your normal list of people like your mom, dad, brother, sister, and boyfriend. No, this was a complete list of her entire family, and we have a BIG family just on mom's side, on both her dad and mom's sided plus any other pics she could think of. Her second letter was a list of every thing possible for her to buy in the commons up there; from hygiene products, to clothes, to junk food and pop. Now she wouldn't be needing this stuff if she would use the money she gets to get the things she needs instead of junk food, but look who I'm talking about. This is the girl who took her check book, that she is not aloud to have or write out of, and spent over $700 in one day, she doesn't even get that much in one month. But what can you do? OK, anyway I need to go to bed. I'll try and post an update about how court goes tomorrow.

Update on Lindsey

OK, so I knew it wouldn't be long before I started slacking off on the blog thing. I've just never been someone that likes to put my thoughts in writing. Not that I haven't thought about posting an update. I just haven't felt like messing with it lately. And I wasn't to sure if anyone else, other then the two I talk to, was reading it. But someone else asked for an update so I guess there are others that read my blog. So here's an update on what has been going on around here.

The last blog I posted was on the 30th of July and we had just found out that Lindsey, Orval, and a girl named Rose were in jail for breaking into a house. Well they are still in jail. They've had their first court hearing to be appointed attorney's and their bond's have been set. Not that anyone has the money to bail them out. Anyway. Yesterday Lindsey had two Dr. appointments that the jail had to take her to. So mom went to meet them up there so she could get the proscriptions and have them filled. When she got up there she was told she had to leave or they wouldn't bring Lindsey to the appointment. So she left. Let's just said mom was very mad when she got back home. She was told she would have to get an OK from the sheriff for her to be there for the appointment. So she called the sheriff's office and was told that it wasn't anywhere in Lindsey's record that she had any mental problems, was on Med's, or had a guardian. Now see this information should have been put in her record last year when she was in this mess to begin with, but evidently here attorney kept it from going to the judge and told Lindsey to tell the judge that she was not on any Med's. So when mom talked to the sheriffs office she was told that if Lindsey has mental problems she should never have been put in jail at all and that they aren't set up to handle mental felons and that she should go talk to the judge. So now that's what mom is trying to do.

As for the rest of us we took Matt camping at the lake, had dinner at aunt Donna's house, and Matt started 2nd grade. I'll post some blogs with pictures on those events after while.

July 30st Episode

OK, so I haven't really had anything new to add and I didn't think I would until we got back from camping at the lake next week but I was wrong. So here's the update. Lindsey had a Dr. appointment this morning at 9:45am that Orval toke her to. Mom said they wore going to come back here and get something to swim in and then go to Big Splash with Orval's sister. Well they never showed up or returned mom's calls. So we thought they just went on to Big Splash. But evidently not. Mom just came and told me she got a call from Shena (that's who mom babysits for) saying that Lindsey, Orval, and some other girl are in Jail for braking into a house. Can you say STUPID? Now here's the thing Lindsey is on three years probation for assault with a dangerous weapon. So now her well more then likely go to prison for the remainder of the three years. At lest that's how they said it would work, but with Lindsey you never know when their going to say "just don't do it again". That's all I know for now, but mom went to see what more she can find out. I'll post an update when I know more.

To Be Continued...

Lindsey and her ER trips

So we had an interesting day yesterday and this morning. First off mom was at work from about 6:30am to 3:00pm, so it was just me and Matt. When she got off work she picked up Baily and Nate, who are 2 and 4 yrs. old. Mom babysits them in the evenings while their mom works. She dropped them off with me and Matt while she ran a few errands. Which was a nightmare cause nether one will mind so the house was a wreck. Plus it didn't help that Baily was sick so was ether crying or screaming her lungs out part of the time. But she finale fell a sleep so it wasn't so bad. Now don't get me wrong I like kids, but when they don't mind and tear the house up or are sick and crying and screaming all the time and you get headaches as much as I do it's no picnic. Anyway back to how the day went. Later mom toke the kids back home so I started fixing dinner. While I am Lindsey comes down and says she don't fill good. Now she had had her wisdom teeth cut out back in March and was complaining that one of the incisions had opened back up and was hurting. So when she started saying she was filling sick I look at her and could see one side of her face was swollen. But when she started to gag I called mom and told her to hurry and get back now because she was going to have to take Lindsey to the ER. Mom got here with in a couple minutes of my call and her and Lindsey left for the ER. Of cores they didn't get home till after midnight. Lindsey was OK, but the she had an abscess tooth that was draining and making her sick. So they sent her home with some meds. So every things good, right? NOT!! This morning mom wakes me up at about 6am and says she called an ambulance to come get Lindsey. Evidently Lindsey was up stairs sick again and shacking real bad almost like she was convulsing. Mom thought she was having an allergic reaction to the penicillin the ER prescribed her last night. So between 6 and 7am we had an ambulance and firetruck out front. They toke her the the hospital where they ran test and found out she has an inflammation on her breast bone and that she was having a panic attack to go along with the abscess tooth. So she came home with even more meds to go along with all the other ones she already takes on a daily basses. But she's OK now, for the moment anyways, she's resting and taking all her meds. So hopefully it will be a while before she makes another ER trip. Her file must be an inch thick with all the trips she makes up there and a lot are unnecessary, but that's Lindsey for you.

New arrangements for Matt

Ok, so mom told me tonight that her and Jay, Matt's dad, have worked out a new visitation arrangement. She said they will give it a try and see how it goes. Starting today mom will have Matt for a week then Jay will have him a week and back and forth like that. And I guess on the weeks mom haves Matt I well be keeping him while she is at work. Which is from about 6am till 2:30pm. Now the only problem with mom and Jay's arrangement is that Jay doesn't want to pay child support, but will pay all medical and co-pays. He also wants to put Matt in a different school this next years because it's "better". I don't know how he thinks he can get away with not paying child support. And where the medical and co-pays are concerned it's not necessary because Matt was born at the Indian Hospital so there for he has free medical. As for the school thing. Just because he didn't like Matt's teacher the last two years and wants to put Matt in a "better" school dose not mean the school he is already in is not a good school. And with gas price's like they are right now. If they move Matt to a new school someone is going to be wasting gas taking him to and from school, because this new school is in a different town. I don't know if all this is going to work or for how long, but they had better come to an agreement before school starts next month.

July 18th's Episode

Ok, so here's how today went.

  1. First off I didn't go to sleep till after 5:00 am.
  2. Lindsey and Orval showed back up at 8:30 am, after being gone all night. She woke me up by banging on my window to let them in. I went back to bed, but only sleep till 10:30 am. So I got up to check the front door, which was unlocked. This didn't surprise me. I just figured they had left again for her court hearing, which was at 9:30 am. So I locked the door and went back to bed. But no sooner had I got back in bed that I hear someone knocking on the front door. So I go answer the door and guess who it is. It's Lindsey and she's mad at me for locking the door with her still outside. For the record I looked out the window and didn't see her. I think she just fell asleep out there and woke up when I locked the door. Ok at this point she realises what time it is, 10:30am, and freaks out. Like I said before she had to be in court at 9:30. So she's an hour late, which isn't a good thing. She could end up back in jail for a missed court date. So she wakes Orval up to take her to the court house. And you know what she says on her way out the door. She says she'll tell them it was my fault she was late and that I locked her out of the house. Can you believe that? It's not my fault she stayed out all night then fell asleep on the porch when she should have been getting ready for court. But you know what she didn't even get in trouble for being late like she should have. She is never going to learn that there are consequences to her actions. Ok so after they left I went back to bed and slept till about 3 or 4.
  3. At about 5pm Matt and I went to the grocery store. Where I spent more then I should have, but oh well, we needed food.
  4. And now here I am fighting a headache. Matt's in bed although he's not asleep. I'm done with this blog so now I'm board and have nothing else to do.

Oh and if your wondering why in the world I would be up till 5am then sleep all day. Well it's because I worked the overnight shift for about 6 years and I still can't get off that schedule. Sucks, I know.

A book to get you started

Hi, my name is Keisha, but my friends call me Keikei, and I'm from Claremore, OK. I'm 27 years old, single, and my life is a soap opera. For the past 7 and a half years I've worked at Cherokee Casino in Catoosa, OK. But in February they fired me due to attendance. I was and kind of still am going through some major family problems. This and a lot of stress caused me to mess work to often. I still have not found a new job so at the moment I'm on unemployment. Don't get me wrong I love not having to work, it's a nice long vacation. But the down side is I am so board all the time and I don't think my unemployment pay will last for much longer. So I pray I'll find a new job soon.

Ok, so some of you may be wondering where the soap opera comes in. Well I'm going to tell you. It's my family. There are four of us who live in my house.

My mom Joy who is 48.

Then there is me and like I said before I'm 27.

After me there is my sister Lindsey who is 21.

And then finale there is my little brother Matthew who is 7.

Big age difference you say! Well you know I asked my mom once if she would have rather of had us all closer together, but you know what she said? She said "No, I like the age difference just the way it is." Oh and before you ask "where is the dad in your list?" Well we all have different dad's. Mine, his name is Kelly, has never been in the picture. Lindsey's dad, David, hasn't been in the picture ether due to being in prison most of the time. Then there's Matt's dad, Jay, who has been in the picture.

Oh no! I forgot to add some names to my list of who's in my house. Oh well, better late then never. Ok so the other names are Gracie, Rikki, and Baby Girl. My cat's.

Oh and I can't forget Orval, Lindsey's on again off again boyfriend for the past 2 years.

I still can't believe it's been that long. We had Orval move in at the end of last month to help pay bills, and boy was that a stupid idea. Can you say "MIGRAINE!"

Oh, and just so you know these pictures are old. We don't still look this stupid. Well in Lindsey's case she don't look that good anymore. I have some new pictures that I'll put on if I ever remember to take them in.

Ok, it's late and I'm ready for bed so I'll have to write some more tomorrow. But for now I think you've read plenty. Have a good night.
